About the Artist
Andrea is a native Washingtonian. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Pratt Institute, majoring in Communication Design with a minor in photography. Early in her career, Andrea primarily worked with acrylics, watercolor and tempera. Later, she also discovered she had a passion for traditional quilting. After years of experimentation of the different mediums, she merged her love of painting with the art of fabrication, resulting in dimensional embroidery, collage and fabric painting.
It's always a challenge to invite observers to go beyond seeing what many may think of as mundane and unremarkable everyday natural phenomenon and discover small nuances of color and shapes that may never have been noticed before. I hope that viewers of my artwork walk away with a sense that they've experienced the harmorny and beauty of nature.
"Art is not is not what you see, but what you make others see" Edgar Degas
